The Day a Mother Heard “Amma” Again… ❤️

I still remember the day a mother first walked into our centre with her little boy.
He was just 2½ years old.He had autistic features. But that was not the mother’s biggest pain.
“He used to say a few words before… now even those are gone.”
There was so much fear hidden in that one sentence.
The child who once said “Amma” and “Acha” was no longer calling them anymore. He was not asking for his needs.Eye contact was limited. There were fidgeting behaviours, repetitive hand and leg movements, toe walking, and difficulty sitting in one place.
His speech and communication were significantly delayed.
Before coming to us, the parents had already tried another therapy centre for a month, hoping to see improvement. But they did not notice the changes they were expecting.
That is when they came to Tezz Health.
Even on the very first day, you could see the fear in the parents’ eyes.
“Will our child speak again?”
We started therapy in a very simple and comfortable way.Through play-based interaction, sound imitation, response building, and active parent involvement, we first focused on helping the child feel connected, safe, and understood.
Then slowly… small changes began to appear.
He started responding more when his name was called. There was more interaction. And little by little… words started coming back.
One day during a session, the child suddenly started following the tune of a song.
The expression on the mother’s face that day is something I will never forget.
Now the child is trying to use more words. He attempts songs. He shows more communication efforts. And his interaction with his parents has improved beautifully.
This was not magic that happened overnight.
It came through consistency, the right therapy approach, home support, patience, and teamwork.
In speech therapy, the biggest victories often begin with the smallest changes.
A sound.An eye contact.A single word.A small attempt.
To others, these moments may seem small. But for parents waiting to hear their child communicate, these moments mean everything.
Every child progresses differently. But with early support and the right guidance, meaningful progress is possible.
At Tezz Health, we believe every child deserves patience, understanding, and the opportunity to communicate in their own beautiful way. ❤️
